male heads--the genus Iva is closely related to Ambrosia (the ragweeds).  Both are wind-pollinated, unlike most members of the sunflower family.  One major difference between the two genera, however, is that in Iva the bracts subtending each male head are large and conspicuous. leaves--what is the leaf arrangement?
