Ribosome Biogenesis

The ribosome is one of the most complex machines in the cell. We work on how eukaryotic cells assemble, transport, and test ribosomes for function.  We primarily use yeast as a model system because the molecular techniques, genetic reagents and bioinformatics are more robust for yeast than for any other system.
