Upbringing I was born & raised in rural Cornwall, England; in the United Kingdom.

Even by British standards, Cornwall is geographically and culturally atypical, with its unique micro-climate, geography and Celtic origins.

Campanology As an adolescent, I lived and was raised in a small village, which on the surface, appeared to have few things going for it. The village boasted several outlying farms, a 15th century church, a red phone booth and a small mail box.

Living right next to the church & graveyard, I learned to ring church bells. This was to the frustration of my parents; especially on Sunday mornings, or before weddings and funerals.

By US standadrds, campanology provided me with a unique and interesting hobby and a full and enjoyable social life.

Scuba Diving I grew up on a peninsula, with the sea on 3 sides. Ironically it was not until I resided in Austin, TX that I learned to Scuba dive.

I learned to dive in exotic lake Travis in Texas and obtained my PADI open water certification in 2000. I went on to become a PADI Dive Master in 2008, again in exotic lake Travis. Happily I have also dived in the U.K., South Africa and Mexico.
